BIO
I am an associate professor of environmental communication and policy in the School of Public and International Affairs. I am an affiliate of the Fralin Life Sciences Institute and the Global Change Center at Virginia Tech and a Research Fellow in the Institute for Science, Technology, and Public Policy in the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. I am a member of the Steering Committee for the Invasive Species Collaborative at Virginia Tech. I am the Chair of the International Environmental Communication Association, an associate editor for the journal Science and Environmental Communication, a Frontiers special section, and on the editorial board of Reviews in General Psychology. I am a 2024 Andrew Carnegie Fellow, and I received the 2022 CAREER award from the National Science Foundation SOS:DCI program. I received my bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and my PhD from the University of Florida.
